Tamper evident security labels
Drug counterfeiting is a phenomenon of growing concern because it has become so widespread in recent years. Beyond the illegal aspect and the financial loss, counterfeiting drugs represent a serious threat to global health and call for a comprehensive strategy both at European and international level.
TAMPER EVIDENT SECURITY LABELS
The European parliament directive 2011/62/EU main objective is to prevent the proliferation of falsified medicinal products into the legal supply chain. The Directive therefore imposes the implementation of a tamper evident system on the medical packaging to check whether it has been opened or not.
EDGYN offers tamper evident labels (transparent or semi-transparent, ultra-destructible labels with VOID effect and pre-cutting…) for pharmaceutical industry highlighting any unauthorized packaging opening.
These tamper evidence labels can also integrate authentication functions with several security levels (invisible security inks, chemical markers, micro-text) depending on controllers : patients, inspectors, customs, laboratories. Such labels affixed on cardboard boxes ensure the drugs protection against tampering and counterfeiting.
